reducing the cost through a parent copayment based on income and family size.<\/p><p>At the <strong>Early Learning Coalition of Alachua County<\/strong>, our Family Services team is here to help families understand eligibility, apply, and stay informed about program updates.<\/p><p><strong>Who Is Eligible?<\/strong><\/p><p>Families may qualify for School Readiness if they meet the following guidelines:<\/p><ul><li>Parent(s) are <strong>working or participating in an educational activity<\/strong> (college or trade school) at least <strong>20 hours per week<\/strong><\/li><li>Household <strong>gross income is at or below 55% of the State Median Income (SMI)<\/strong> for family size<\/li><li>Families pay a <strong>monthly copayment<\/strong> based on income, family size, and hours of care<\/li><li>Some children may qualify regardless of parent work or education status, including children who:<ul><li>Have special needs<\/li><li>Are at risk of abuse, neglect, or abandonment<\/li><li>Are experiencing homelessness<\/li><li>Are from families affected by domestic violence<\/li><li>Are low-income migrant families or farm workers<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fl-module fl-module-pp-table fl-node-5cd56e3427d78\" data-node=\"5cd56e3427d78\"><div class=\"fl-module-content class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Important Copayment Changes (Effective July 1, 2025)<\/strong><\/p><p>Federal regulations now require <strong>one copayment per household<\/strong>, assigned to <strong>only one child<\/strong>, even if multiple children are enrolled in School Readiness.<\/p><p>What this means for families:<\/p><ul><li>The copayment is based on <strong>household income<\/strong> and <strong>authorized hours of care<\/strong> (full- or part-time)<\/li><li>You will pay your copayment to <strong>one provider for one child<\/strong><\/li><li>If your child attends two SR providers, the copayment is paid to <strong>only one provider<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Other children in SR will not have copayments<\/strong><\/li><li>Additional provider fees may still apply<\/li><\/ul><p>Your child\u2019s <strong>School Readiness certificate<\/strong> will list your assigned copayment.<br \/>If the certificate shows <strong>$0.00<\/strong>, no copayment is required for that child.<\/p><p>Families with foster children, children receiving TANF, or relative caregiver funds should contact ELCAC directly for guidance on copayment
